Santa Maria

The Blue Azores Program, led by the Regional Government of the Azores and focused on the conservation and sustainable use of marine resources, will be on the island of Santa Maria to discuss the review of the network of Marine Protected Areas of the Azores, thus initiating the participatory process directed to the coastal areas of the archipelago.

This meeting will begin at 5 p.m. at the Municipal Library of Santa Maria and is open to all residents of the island, marking a crucial step in the goal of protecting 30% of the Azores Sea.

This is the first meeting of a participatory process to be held throughout 2023 on all Azorean islands, with coastal sea users being involved in this process from the outset.

We're counting on everyone. Your involvement is important to build the future of our sea. Participate in the public session.
