São Jorge

The Blue Azores Program, led by the Regional Government of the Azores and focused on the conservation and sustainable use of marine resources, will be on the island of São Jorge to discuss the revision of the network of Marine Protected Areas in the Azores, thus starting the participatory process aimed at the coastal areas of the archipelago.

 

This meeting, scheduled to start at 5 pm on 16 March at the Municipal Auditorium of Velas, will be open to all residents of the island, marking a crucial step in the objective of protecting 30% of the Sea of ​​the Azores.

 

This is the third meeting of a participatory process that will be held throughout 2023 in all the Azorean islands, with the intention that coastal sea users are involved in this process from the beginning.

Graciosa

This meeting will begin at 5 p.m. at the Municipal Library of Santa Cruz da Graciosa and is open to all residents of the island, marking a crucial step in the goal of protecting 30% of the Azores Sea. 


After starting in Santa Maria, the participatory process continues on Graciosa Island and will be carried out, throughout 2023, on all the Azorean islands, with the intention that coastal sea users are involved in this process from the beginning.

This meeting will begin at 5 p.m. at the Municipal Library of Santa Maria and is open to all residents of the island, marking a crucial step in the goal of protecting 30% of the Azores Sea. 

 

This is the first meeting of a participatory process to be held throughout 2023 on all Azorean islands, with coastal sea users being involved in this process from the outset.
